Family caregivers provide tremendous love and effort, yet often without enough external support. According to recent data from AARP Delaware, roughly 24% of adults in Delaware — about 197,000 people — are family caregivers, providing unpaid care to a loved one. AARP States At Affordable Home Care Delaware, we understand those burdens and extend our support beyond just the client in-home.
In the Greater Wilmington area we are hosting periodic “caregiver hour” meet-ups (virtual or in-person) where family caregivers can exchange experiences, learn tips, ask questions, and access local resources. We also offer respite support—temporary in-home caregiver assistance—so family members can take a break, run errands, or attend to their own health and obligations.
We partner with local non-profits and community groups to connect caregiver families with educational workshops, financial/benefit guidance, and self-care resources. Because when caregivers are supported, clients receive better care and families sustain longer.
If you’re a caregiver in Wilmington or nearby, we encourage you to reach out. Whether it's swapping stories, accessing a trained caregiver for a few hours, or simply learning about your options, Affordable Home Care Delaware is here for both the client and the behind-the-scenes caregiver.
